We aim to treat our patients courteously at all times, and expect our patients and their relatives or representatives to treat staff, visitors and other patients in a similarly respectful way.
We strongly support the NHS Zero Tolerance Policy towards Aggressive, Abusive, Foul, Racist, Homophobic, Threatening language or behaviour either in person, on the telephone, via Social media or written correspondence including emails and text messages.
We issue written warnings to patients who behave in this manner or if their relative or representative breach the Zero Tolerance a warning letter will be sent to the patient. If the behaviour persists despite a warning, or we feel the Dr/Patient relationship has irrevocably broken down, then we will then exercise our right to take action to have the patient removed, immediately if necessary, from our list of patients.
All instances of physical abuse by a patient or their relatives, or any form of criminal damage will be reported to the police and this will lead to immediate removal from our Practice List
In extreme cases we may summon the police to remove offenders from the practice premises.
Under no circumstances will we re-register a patient once they have been removed under the breach of the Zero Tolerance Policy
